The team behind the FFVII: Remake are confident the next episode is likely to release within the current game system’s life cycle.

After the successful reception and critical acclaim following the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake, Square Enix is hoping to capitalize on the fan momentum by releasing the remaining episodes of the previously unepisodic game as soon as possible.

"Everyone is really eager to continue working on (Final Fantasy VII Remake),” Said the co-director Naoki Hamaguchi, "We approached the production of this game with the fans in mind. We wanted to honor the original game while introducing new elements that would enhance it without losing what made it special for gamers on the original Playstation.”

“The Yuffie fans in particular can be very vocal on the forums…”

Conversations with the staff behind the production of Final Fantasy VII Remake paint a similar story. "It’s all the little details and how they come together. We easily spent six months on the graphics used for Cloud’s hair,” one of the programmers involved with the development of the game said, “We know what’s important to fans and what will help bring this story to a new audience of gamers.” The programmer then shrugged before adding, “Yeah, we know that it all adds up, but in the end, I think the extra time to get that bounce just right speaks for itself.”

"Despite the extra care we’re putting into things like the texture mapping on Barrett’s gun arm or the advanced AI mechanic we’re developing to control Vincent’s cape, we are optimistic that we’ll be able to produce the remaining episodes soon,” Naoki Hamaguchi said, “We feel it’s a very real possibility that the next episode will, likely, come out within the lifespan of the current PS5’s system cycle.”

“We easily spent six months on the graphics used for Cloud’s hair…”

“We just don't have the staff to split between our other ongoing projects,” Hamaguchi explained, “we’re pouring a lot of our resources into other highly demanded titles like ‘Kingdom Hearts 3.2: the Edges of Heartless Shadows And The Awakening Of The Dawn Chronicles of Timeless Love’ and ‘That Ninja Girl: Yuffie’s Story’ and of course the much demanded ‘Final Fantasy X-2 remastered, The Forever on Tour Songstress edition.’ We have an obligation to these fans as well."

Hamaguchi added, “While FF7 is a really important IP to Square Enix, and we are spending a little extra time because the fan expectation is so high, we also can’t ignore the fans of these other great games. The Yuffie fans in particular can be very vocal on the forums…” then Hamaguchi’s face went blank before staring off into the distance.
